The Arnold Fencing Classic 2009

Royal Arts Fencing Academy is The Host and Founder of the Arnold Fencing Classic!
Arnold Fencing Classic conducted in partnership with The Swordsport in conjunction with the
OVERVIEW OF EVENTS
Regional Youth Circuit (RYC)
The RYC is a nationally recognized event for boys and girls ages 6 to 14
years old. All three weapons will be a part of this competition. Participants
in the Y10 and Y12 event(s) have the opportunity to qualify for the 2008
Summer Nationals. Fencers from the US, Germany and Russia will go head
to head in this exciting competition.
Foil Open
Men and Women fencers of all ages and from across the US will compete.
In addition, members of the US Fencing Team are expected to make a special
appearance in this event. This event will be held in the Union Room (Hyatt&CCC)
Epee Open
Men’s Epee will feature the “Tournament of Kings” --
a tradition of the Arnold Fencing Classic. See some of the highest level
of men’s epee fencing as they battle each other for the “crown.” This
event will be held in the Union Room with semi-finals and finals held on
the main stage in the Grand Ballroom of the Columbus Convention Center.
Women’s Epee, one of the fastest growing fencing events, will also
be featured starting in the Union Room with finals held in the Grand Ballroom.
Sabre Open
The Men and Women’s Sabre Open features one of the most unique aspects
in the sport of fencing. This event will be held in the Haynes room of
the Hyatt with final bouts on the Main Stage in the Grand Ballroom of the
Columbus Convention Center
THE ELITE INVITATIONAL (By invitation only)
This grand event features the most elite fencers from the US, Russia, Poland,
Germany, England and Canada.
They will compete and illustrate
the highest level of fencing skills!
